Introduction:

The ‘Coach Approach’ Certification Program is fundamentally about facilitating change: moving from a current state to a desired state. Award winning certified coach, Dr. Pat Comley delivers a refreshing, original and motivating approach, specializing in helping individual, teams, and organizations to develop Better Conversations: Better Results®. Each 2 day workshop is unique and follows the needs and organizational culture of the participants. Each participant will receive a comprehensive ‘Coaching Approach’ Manual, a voluntary follow up Practicum with 3 teleconferences, a Bibliography, and Relevant Journal Articles on Coaching, plus the training PowerPoint Slides.

What is coaching?

Coaching is defined as being fundamentally about facilitating change that will lead to desired results: facilitating movement from a current state to a more desirable future state.

Purpose of Program:

The purpose of this program is to provide participant with the foundational skills to bring a coaching approach to their workplace. This program focuses on the mindset, framework, roles & stances, skills and competencies involved in the coaching process and how to engage in powerful coaching conversations with their employees. We will also look through the lens of Neuroscience!

At the end of this program the participants will be able to:

  • Define coaching and describe how a coaching approach will support their work
  • Describe the elements of the coaching approach and its benefits
  • Identify the conditions that need to be in place to facilitate a coaching approach to working with employees and each other
  • Understand all the other roles and stances used and when and how they can be effectively used
  • Describe and use the components of the Pause-Reflect-Act® framework for an effective coaching conversation
  • Explore and practice the core competencies and skills - listening, questioning and providing feedback
  • Identify where a coach approach will best serve the needs of the situation

As the program unfolds, the facilitators will:

  • Take into account unique organization context and challenges
  • Connect coaching to strategic initiatives and corporate culture
  • Provide practical links and references so that participants see coaching in the context of their overall roles, goals, and strategic direction.
